Welcome to our on-line Protein Science forum

This is intended to provide a useful, regularly updated resource for those in the biotechnology and pharmaceutical industries who have to grapple with day to day challenges of protein expression, purification, characterisation, scale-up and process development. The quality and utility of this resource depends critically upon your input and willingness to share your ideas and advice with others. However this is NOT the place for confidential or commercial information and if you are in any doubt, consult with your colleagues / line management. For this and other reasons, all information will be moderated and no direct submissions can be made to the Web pages. The Web space is made available to us by the Structural Biology Industrial Platform (SBIP)

How to use this site:

We have streamlined the pages so that they should hopefully be fast. Dark blue text usually presents instructions or sections, Light blue text represents links. Red text represents important items or mandatory form fields. The Questions link takes you to the New Questions Page. Please visit this first and see if any of these also apply to your needs or you can provide answers or suggestions. Next select the Registration link which will take you to the multi-purpose form. Please register if you intend to use the on-line forum and contribute to it actively. We will then include you on our mailing list. If YOU have a question, you can submit it via this form. If you are able to supply answers or suggestions (or other feedback) use this form to submit this too.

1) Protein Science Forum 3
18th and 19th November 02,Novartis Horsham Research Centre, Horsham, West Sussex

The Third Protein Science Forum Meeting will be held on the 18th and 19th of November 2002 at Novartis Horsham Research Centre, Horsham, West Sussex.

The meeting will have a similar type of format to the one held at Astra Zeneca in Jan 2002.  The purpose of the meeting is for practitioners to share their experiences, both positive and negative in the field of protein science.  As yet we do not have any suggested topics but judging from the responses to the questionnaire after January’s meeting possibilities include:

· Purification of membrane proteins
· New and novel protein expression systems
· High throughput protein expression and purification

The deadline for registration of  speakers, sponsors and attendees will be end of March 02.
